Right Place
Read: Proverbs 16:1-9
We carefully make schedules so we can be where we think we should be. But we always need to keep in mind the words of Solomon, "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps" (Prov. 16:9).
Do we seek ministry in life's unplanned schedule changes? Do we turn detours into guided tours of what He wants to do through us? If we're doing God's will, we'll be in the right place. Then, wherever we are, we can point people to Him. Unexpected changes are opportunities in disguise.

I needed to hear these very words today, I've had some unexpected changes recently and I let them throw me into somewhat of a discouraged state, But to step back and look at it as part of God plan helps me look forward to new opportunities. I still don't like whats happened, but I'm sure God will remind me later that it was necessary.
I have always told my wife that I wanted to do work with helping those less fortunate help themselves and have lately been able to do just that. It's funny how opportunities present themselves when we open our eyes to them.
In direct respect to this, a good friend of mine was out canoeing one day on a lake with his son. A wind came up suddenly and the sky darkened. As they paddled to the shore, the wind kept pushing them back out further and further. He had this sudden vision and horror that they might die. He prayed for the Lord to give him strength to make it to shore. He said he heard a voice in his ear that said, "you aren't going to die, I have further plans for you". He then grabbed his oar and with the power of ten men swiftly knifed for shore. When they got on shore, he just sat there shaking.
